UPDATE
Since 2012, Vickey was doing Commercial Artworks working with a program for the US Navy in Washington, DC. This was for a New Business program in International Foreign Military Sales.

Shortly after that assignment in 2014 she had surgery on both hands. She had at that time suffered with Carpal Tunnel disease for nearly 14 yrs., and, attempted a second surgery in 2016; but she was not a candidate.

Since, 2014 she has taken a sabbatical from painting, with efforts in healing permanent nerve damage in both hands. She has continued to do some photography work during travels. In 2018-2020 she is in the process of re-organizing a studio for works during retirement, with plans to include fiber-works, quilting to her medium as well as watercolor work. She plans to incorporate an antique treadle sewing machine for use in illustration work. And, continuing her watercolor workshop efforts with Judy Betts, AWS. https://www.judibettsaws.com/

After five years of rest for her hands, with hopes to return to art on a full-time basis in her own private studio.
